Hello, I found out there was another form using the same field and this had the alphanumeric validation activated, so it was overriding the other form field behavior. Fixed now!
Hello, sorry, but I am no coder, I am not touching this. I will wait for an update, as this seems to be a common issue right now that will not work for anyone else as well.
Also it looks like your new string is missing 0-9!?
Thanks, but I am not going to touch the code. This will be removed with the next update anyway.
The thing here is, that I am using the latest version of UM AND the field is set to NO validation, so it should accept anything someone inserts! But it does not.
Anyone any idea why this happens? As well as why the image change upload does not work for existing users?
UPDATE:
I have been able to solve this by breaking all the rules: Officially it´s not allowed (anymore) to create a new WP user with the same email address. But for our use case, this makes sense as we want agency owners to submit new client listings. They did not want to create new email addresses for each listing and get confused, so we installed an old (and untested) plugin that allows the registration of a new user with the same email address. So far it works fine without any trouble.
It is not exactly what we had in mind, but solved the problem just fine.
The plugin in question is this one:
