This has been resolved. It turns out that the plugin has a default setting at 420×55.

I am having the same problem with youtube video links. Irregardless of the block I use (1 column or 2 columns) they only display at 420 x 55. I have tried using different width and heights and although they display appropriately in the block editor when I preview/update the page all that is displayed is 420 x 55. I have tried embedding the html code in a custom code block but that doesn’t change the fact that when saved it only displays at 420 x 55. I have also tried adding the CSS class to the youtube block of add_theme_support( ‘responsive-embeds’ ); to no avail.
Any additional thoughts?
