Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Plugin: Relative Image URLs] Error when activatingI got it to work on localhost (WP 3.0.1) however on the live site it won’t do anything. No error message, it just won’t convert the urls. I don’t believe this, such a great plugin but apparently needs some rework.

In reply to: WP 3 and permalinksYou can create an empty .htaccess in the root and set the chmod. The default permalink option doesn’t use it, the others do.

In reply to: WP 3 and permalinksSame here. Only default permalink works on local. (Live server works all fine.) I’ve double-checked all the above mentioned settings, incl. httpd.conf settings and urls remain broken. I didn’t have this sort of problem with 2.9. I wouldn’t mind the default permalink setting as long as developing on local, but simple press forum will not run at all, it apparently doesn’t like the default permalink.

In reply to: Permalink URL BrokenSame here, no permalink works on localhost but the default.
I’m on W7, apache 2.2/php5, WP3. I’ve commented out the mod_rewrite line and set AllowOverride all in httpd.conf and restarted apache multiple times.. Yet if i set my permalinks to other than default, i’ll get a 404 for all the posts and pages.
Pls help!
Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: magazine style frontpage? Thanks samboll, i’ve found a theme that can be tailored to my needs with a little hacking, although my goal is to learn how to build my own custom magazin style theme. Looks like it’s more complicated than i thought.

In reply to: shared forum for multiple sitesGuys, thanks for your help. In the meantime i’ve found Buddypress. I’m just getting familiar with it. To be honest i don’t have the faintest clue how wordpress.com works but afaik it’s MU-based. The thing is that i’d like my sites to run under different domains not just subdomains. My hosting provider (siteground) allows me to add subdomains but it’s not exactly what i want. As i learnt the current version of WP3 doesn’t support multi-sites running on separate domains, only subdomains. There’s some plugin that does that though, i haven’t tried it yet.
