In reply to: [WooCommerce] “Local Pickup” Not Working while “Local Delivery” is workingI resolved a similar issue tonight as I received a request from my client earlier this evening who wanted to be able to add a “local pickup” option for specific counties close to their business. For reference, the client is using the “WooCommerce FedEx Shipping” Plug-in Version 3.4.2 and WooCommerce Version 2.6.7.
The newest version of the FedEx plugin now works directly with the “Shipping Zones” feature in WooCommerce. I have three zones setup: Local Pickup, Domestic, and Rest of the World. Domestic and Rest of the World shipping zones are set up specifically with FedEx shipping methods only.
Note: Every time you enter a new FedEx shipping method, it must be configured according to that zone. For example, Domestic, I clicked on the FedEx shipping method under that zone and configured it for Domestic. Rest of the World, I clicked on the Fedex shipping method under that zone and configured it for International.
For the Local Pickup Zone I added the specific “state” aka region the business is in and added all of the specific zip codes within the county the business is in (per their request). In the shipping methods I added the “Local Pickup” shipping method. I also added the “FedEx” shipping method. So now there is two shipping methods setup for the local pickup zone. I had to configure the FedEx shipping method for local shipping (which is the same configuration as domestic). This allowed the two FedEx shipping methods we have configured plus the Local Pickup option for all zip codes within the business county.
I hope this helps!
Hi respectyoda – You mentioned “If you are using a parent theme, not a child theme.” Why couldn’t you do this under the child theme? I’m currently building under a child theme and would like to do this. I haven’t tried it yet, figured I’d ask before wasting time trying to make it work..
