Hey Angelo, I think we’re back in business, here’s what happened…
So he investigated the situation on our server (hosted by Bluehost) and discovered they use both Apache and nginx. However he said nginx uses HTTP while Apache uses HTTPS. This prompted me to check my feed on iTunes Connect. Sure enough, on there I had HTTP, without the S. So I changed it to HTTPS, gave it an hour and I had the correct up-to-date feed showing on my phone and in my iTunes subscription. What a relief!
So basically it looks like iTunes was pulling from an alternate feed (HTTP) instead of the real genuine version (HTTPS). It did work for about a month that way but not sure what caused it to reject that url all the sudden. Anyway I will continue to keep an eye on it daily as we have a new program post every weekday so if I encounter any further issues I will revisit this thread.
Thanks again for your help. You definitely pointed us in the right direction.
Angelo,
Thank you so much for this critical info. I’m going to have our web guy see if he can clear this up. I’ll definitely report back and let you know if this works so you know for future reference.
Thanks again!
Thank you gentlemen for investigating. I eagerly await your response. Let me know if you need any additional information.
The iTunes Store listing at that link is correct, all programs do show correctly in the store listings. The issue is after subscribing either on iTunes or the iOS Podcast App. The most recent 3 shows do not appear at the top of the feed. (Wed-Friday of this week)
Here’s a link on my site of one of the most recent posts that shows in the iTunes Store, but not in the feed…
https://fairton.org/reformation-podcast-friday-april-28th-2017/The Rss feed looks correct as far as I can tell. Am I missing something obvious?
No problem at all, here you go…
