nevermind.. turns out there’s nothing wrong with the plugin. It was another plugin that was causing the issue. After disabling plugins one by one I found the culprit. thanks again.

oh and btw it only happens when Themed Profiles is enabled. can’t log in with either uername or password when this is enabled.

btw the end of the url is like so after attempting to login with email:
?reauth=1
