I found a workaround, so this topic can be closed.
Users can now edit their profile via a separate page – the admin bar in the frontend is not visible after login and it is not noticeable that it is not possible via it. 🙂

I found my mistake – i also had to check “can access wp-amin”, because the link to a users profile is wp-admin/profile.php.
Is that correct? I have a bad feeling about this.

This is already checked. I also have many options under “WP submissions” and tried to find out, which permission could help.
There i checked “Read”, “Read private pages” and “Edit users”.
