Mail is sent with the plugin disabled but only single emails. The WP Mail SMTP plugin is used to enable bulk emailing via Gmail. I am not able to test for bulk emails as it would involve all of the club’s members and they may think that it’s a spam email.
The developer has correct the issue, here is his message
“There seemed to be an issue with attaching the BCC to the email, which is strange as the history of that file says it hasn’t changed in 4 years. But there was an update to how WordPress sends emails in version 5.7.0. But if that’s the case, this wouldn’t have been working since then (March 2021). “
The test emails work fine. However, when a bulk email is sent, it throws an error message “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” but the emails are sent in most cases.
Yes, ccf_email_users is based on Email Users by Michael Walsh and has been customized by a developer. Thank you for your reply and I will reach out to the developer of that plugin.

Hi Bruce
I just updated to FB ver 4 and did the import from FB ver 3.9 and it did not work. I have a couple of images I could send to you one for each version.
Note that I did add the code at the codeshare link and it was only partially successful.

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Updated to version 1.8.5 breaks all Cron jobsThanks John,
I have taken the recommended actions and installed Wordfence and have run the security scan which came back negative.

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Updated to version 1.8.5 breaks all Cron jobsI believe that the problem relates to another plugin that you may have installed. In my case it was the WP Geo Website Protection plugin that caused the problem. Try deactivating plugins that were installed recently.

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Updated to version 1.8.5 breaks all Cron jobsHi John,
It was the WP Geo Website Protection plugin. I am using this type of plugin to prevent the attempted hacking of our club website. I am now trying a different similar plugin that I had used once before without issue.
Thanks,
Bill

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Updated to version 1.8.5 breaks all Cron jobsHi John,
I figured out the issue with the cron events not running. It turns out that when we started to get random attempts to logon to the website from someone in Albania, I decided to add a plugin that blocks countries and or specific IP addresses. It turns out that this plugin prevents cron events from running. By disabling that plugin all cron events ran immediately.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Updated to version 1.8.5 breaks all Cron jobsHi John,
The error message is an exclamation mark contained within a circle with an orange colour, Next to this is a note that says “1 week 2 days ago”.
I updated from 1.8.4 to 1.8.5.
When I ran the cron job manually the event did not update but a new event was created that has the same title but now has a next date that is 50 years ago.
Thanks,
Bill

In reply to: [WP Crontrol] Mystery wp-crontrol installationHi John,
I have updated the WP Crontrol plugin 3 days ago. Now all of my Cron jobs show an error message about when they last ran. I tried to manually run one job and this created a duplicate cut with a date 50 years in the past.
How do I move back to the previous version if this cannot be fixed?
Thanks,
Bill
