For anyone who has the same problem: There was some kind of conflict with the Insert PHP plugin shortcodes I had in the page that was set as my home page. When I removed the segment employing those shortcodes from the page it eliminated the 500 error…I have no idea why, but it worked.
I’ve removed the redirect, so if you go to http://legalnursenetwork.com you will see the error.
