We have no reduced or zero taxes in our system. Nor do we have any other plugin that affects taxes.

I used your methodology and still cannot see how the discount has been applied.
I applied the discount before tax and applied the discount to each line item and then calculated the tax based on the discounted price. This makes no difference – see screenshot showing the result I arrived at. It would be good if you can show me your calculation.

When we say we cannot replicate the result that is produced – we mean that we cannot work out how the result is produced to arrive at the figures WooCommerce gives us. We can reproduce the result.

As I indicated in the first post, the Items Subtotal comes to $374.48 and tax on taxable items is $23.51 (not all items purchased are taxable). The expected result after the 5% discount is applied is that the Order Total is $378.10 ($397.99 less 5%). However, when we apply the 5% discount coupon, we get an unexpected result with tax of $22.08 and an Order Total of $373.83.

Thanks for looking into this for me. The details are below.
- We are using the standard WooCommerce coupon system in this case.
- I cannot see any setting where this is stated.
- We calculate tax based on the customer shipping address.
- Standard for Australia – 10% GST.
The amount is too great for it to be a rounding issue. Also, we only sell within Australia, so there is only one tax class.
If you can point me in the right direction where to find whether the tax settings configured to apply taxes before or after the discount is applied, that would he good. I looked where you suggested, but found nothing.
