Well, it looks like the pingomatic service is the problem. I have used the manual configuration too and got some time outs (for example http://xping.pubsub.com/ping/). Then I removed all ping services and the problem was gone.

Is it possible to set a higher time out value in wordpress or even better would you correct the problem in wordpress so that it automatically will disable unresponsable ping services on the ping services list?
