If you have the latest WordPress install 4.2 you should be able just to go into your Widgets and drag them out. I would drag out all of the widgets and then replace them with the ones you want.

In reply to: porn link embedded in siteIf your checking files on your host, the files that start with wp- are ok. Others that do not are no good. The index.php you keep it as well. Call your host and they will walk you through which files you need and the ones you can delete. It really also depends on what your host uses.

In reply to: porn link embedded in siteIt could either be in your sites files on the host or in your browser. They can hack through your forms if you have any on your site. Its best to have them in a way that you can validate the information they put in. They can also attack your htaccess file within your host and make changes.
Best practice is to always make a backup of your entire website and database at least once a week and or especially when you do any changes to the site. You can always back your site up to Google drive which is free for the first 15gb and another copy on your computer at home. Ideal would be on an external hard drive away from your actual computer not connected to the internet.
There are plugins like Vaultpress, backup buddy, and others that help you in accomplishing these tasks. Either that or hire someone to do it for you that charge a minimal fee to back it up and run routine checks on your site.
