Not sure what you are referring to but basically you need to assign categories to the posts. If you don’t know how it’s done you can search on YouTube. This is not a theme related question, that is default WordPress functionality.

The thing is that News Magazine X theme does not change any default WordPress settings so it is ho it works by default, that’s not a theme related issues.
You may try plugins like this one https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/gallery-block-lightbox/ to apply global Lightbox (popup) to the images on your website.

You need to enable that option, probably previous theme was handling it automatically. Edit the post/page with images, then select an image and click on Link icon, then select “Enlarge on Click” – https://prnt.sc/9J74BAq9xRu5

The issue comes from the Stick Sidebar option. Navigate to Customize > General Layouts to disable this option. This is not a problematic one but looks like it needs solid debugging.
