  • Hi! I’m trying to do the same thing as fatewithgernweh. I can’t find the template where the_content() needs to be replacted with the_excerpt()? Could you help me out?
    Thank you!

It works so much better! Should have read everything before I started, but I was to eager. Anyway, I learned a lot from my first attempts.

I have a different question and it would be great to get some feedback. I love that it is a responsive theme, but… would be even better for my needs if the sidebar on the right would not move to the bottom of the page as quickly on smaller screens. When I use my ipad in landscape I would like the sidebar to stay on the side. I will insert a number of links here which should be visible and not at the bottom of the page. Is this something I could change without screwing everything up again?

If you have found the answer to your question, I would love to know as I’m looking for the same solution!

    Thanks!

Just to let you know: I’ve decided to start fresh and give it another go. I will only copy paste my changes in custom css instead of the entire stylesheet. Fingers crossed 🙂

And the strangest thing: it is still displayed as it should on my ipad after emptying the chache & cookies. I’m confused 🙂

    Hi Kathryn,

Thank you so much for your reply! I don’t know anyting about code, but I thought it was going really well. I installed the simple custom css plugin before you replied. I copy pasted the entire css stylesheet to the custom css and made a whole lot of changes (mostly colors and font sizes). I used firebug to find the elements that I needed to change. Something must have gone wrong however. I just logged out to have a look at the site from a visitor’s point of view and a number of my changes are gone? Seems the custom css is overruled or something?

To give an example: the comments link (hover, focus, active) changed back to red, while I had changed it to blue in the stylesheet. If I locate the item with firebug, it displays the red color. In my custom css however, the color is still my blue rgb value. This is only one example, but a lot of my changes are gone.

Do you have any idea what might have hapened because I have no idea how to get it right again.
