I went in and looked at the root site and it is currently set to basic protection for some reason. I went into the subdirectory install and tried the optimize function. The only thing I got back was this:
“The changes have not yet taken effect. If you are using LiteSpeed or IIS as your web server or CGI/FastCGI interface, you may need to wait a few minutes for the changes to take effect since the configuration files are sometimes cached. You also may need to select a different server configuration in order to complete this step, but wait for a few minutes before trying. You can try refreshing this page.”
How can I manually undo all the wordfence hooks so that I can try your suggestion on the subdirectory site? And is your suggestion that I end up with a .user.ini in public_html and in the subdirectory, thus allowing both sites to run wordfence independently?
Thanks,
DavidHello,
Thanks for the reply! Sorry for the delay. My email hid the email from me that you had replied.
Before checking with my host, is there a way to just test doing this manually with the other site?
Thanks,
David
