Thanks for explaining the reasoning, I completely understand those technical issues.
The concern is that while it’s up to the user how they use it, the option also enables an easy way to manipulate price history before events like Black Friday etc. I’m sure there are solutions that could be implemented rather than having this manual option. I can think of several straightforward ones. Please reconsider this approach.

I can confirm that Redux doesnt impact performance, its the theme or plugin developer, also server. I got Redux on 3 themes and its blazingly fast.
