Ah, OK, as you @’d me in the notification, I thought it was a fix for me. I will try and find some help elsewhere, didn’t quite mange that yet, and also perhaps try some rollbacks.
@stevejburge still not working for me, no obvious change with this version.
I think I already had that version 2.9.0 (if it updated in the plugin repository earlier today)
It didn’t fix the issue.
I haven’t (to the best of my knowledge) deleted any core roles ever, and certainly not “recently”
Ooops. Sorry, I see now that was for wordmate.

Perhaps I misreported after all. When I say “no roles showing” what I really meant was that no custom roles (created with this Capabilities plugin) are showing, the default WordPress roles (Author, Editor, Subscriber etc) show up in the normal way for me to deny access to posts etc using PPP.
Hi Steve,
I have no idea what is causing the problem. My sites (I’m on WordPress Multisite) are quite mature, several years standing, linked to teaching.
I’m afriad I only just noticed a problem today, so it will be related to an update I guess, but I have no idea what of, eg a plugin, or of WordPress core etc, who knows?
I have not had to admininster my sites (eg I have not even created new content, never mind new users or roles) in quite a few weeks, so I’m afrad that’s a lot of possible updates to consider. The sites do auto updates.
I only came here associating the Roles with things like Publish Press Permissions and this plugin. This one (Capabilities) seemed to have recent users also reporting issues (unlike PPP I think), and I have found the plugins teams to be helpful in the past.
So I’m generaly asking for some help. I don’t know for sure what has caused the issues. And I don’t really know how to start figuring it out.
Kind regards
YikYak

Hi @rizaardiyanto ,
Sadly, I don’t have time right now to create a new website on my multistie to investigate this issue further.
I noticed recently that the authors of the List Pages Shortcode (now temporarily removed subject to review): https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/list-pages-shortcode/ have submitted an updated version of their plugin, so I will revert to that.
If I do get time to investigate further I’ll let you know what I can find out.
Kind regards

Hi Riza,
I am not 100% sure what you need, but see below if that is what you are after:
Essentially my users are given a role (based on the current year, I am a teacher) and that role is blocked from accessing historic pages.

I am not quite sure I set up the access efficiently, as it seems to take alot of effort each year, but I have just been and checked that all required blocks are in place (which they are). Still the user can see those pages listed when the view the list of child pages (but they are correctly blocked from viewing the pages themselves, they only see the links in the page tree).
Thanks
YikYak
Issue: Pages (or at least the links to pages) are not being filtered correctly.
Link issue: Not possible, my site is user access controlled to users in a certain Google accounts domain.
Sreenshot:

The above issue is typical of content on my site. Users are shown a page tree showing child pages, generated by a plugin (as described in the original post). The links generated are not being filtered correctly, so users see links to all child pages, rather than only those pages they have permission to read.
Current behaviour: All child pages are shown in the list. Users get a 404 if they click links of pages they cannot read.
Expected behaviour: Pages that users cannot read should not be shown in the list.

In reply to: [Login for Google Apps] Admin lockout due to redirect timeoutsI thought I would offer a brief update.
I got an auto-reply from the generic email in the pinned post in this area, which suggested there would be a quick follow-up (the dev team aiming for a 24-hour response during the working week). This did not come, so I followed up myself. I did get a reply to that follow-up, at least to acknowledge there is a problem, suggesting that the 3.4.4 rollback is the temporary solution, and simply to state the team is looking into it.
I appreciate it’s not much of an update, but thought it might help given the silence on these forums from the dev team.

In reply to: [Login for Google Apps] Admin lockout due to redirect timeoutsI too had similar-sounding issues, no users could log in with v3.4.5 and were getting a mixture of security warnings and redirect problems.
I dropped Dan/the dev team an email, as the pinned post in the area suggests he/they may not necessarily pick up issues in these forums, and it gave an email address.
A rollback to v3.4.4 gives a temporary fix for me too.
Hi Kevin,
Sorry for the delay, wrong time of day over here. Yes, just done a little bit of testing, 3.7.1 seems to be OK, things are back with controlled access as I would expect.
Kind regards
YikYakUnderstood, it was a panic posting as I was also just trying to get my site back under control.
I don’t think I can set up a test site easily, but I can experiment with different versions of the PPP plugin to see when I notice a break/failure of some sort.
Other than that, what sort of things might you look for me to report? Can you give me any clues about what you might want to read?
Kind regards

In reply to: Anonymous Fox hackThank you.
Sorry, it isn’t possible to show you live. My site is only open to my students (authenticated users against their Uni accounts). I’ve simply stopped using the field “Countdown options”, “Before countdown” and placed this text in the post with the countdown shortcode instead. This has stopped the problematic behaviour (which was still evident in the recent 2.0.0 update).
