In reply to: Changing background of commentsThank you for your advice, but I’m afraid neither of the tree tips had any effect. ^^
– I corrected the typo, but the comment backgrounds are still white.
– There is nothing like the line you mentioned in comments.php.
– The widecolumn section in my style.php shows only
.widecolumn { line-height: 1.6em; }And adding the width line has no effect.

In reply to: Themes do not showAs I had just started, I deleted the database and reinstalled again, so, as you might see, the page is working now.
But as the problem might reoccour later, I’d lake to understand how it happened.
I downloaded the latest version of wordpress, created a database, and dumped all the files from the download on the webspace. Then I entered the db informations to the wp-config.php, uploaded it to the server, and then opend /wp-admin/install.php.
I hadn’t done anything else and it seemed to work fine, but the problems apparently started when I tried to change the WordPress adress in settings on /wp-admin. I restored it with the “define” lines to the wp-config.php, but then the layouts did’t have any effect any longer.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Themes do not showI didn’t change anything. It’s all as I uploaded it for the first installation of wordpress.
The only changes I made was adding the “define” lines to the wp-config.php.
And yes, I can change themes. But as they both don’t show up, it doesn’t make a visible difference.Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: No Themes… not even default themesHello, I seem to have exactly the same problem.
Just got wordpress set up for the first time and it worked mostly as planned. I tried to change the URL on the settings screen in /wp-admin, after witch nothing worked anymore, and fixed it with the “define” function added to the wp-confic file
And I think after that point, neither the blog has any kind of layout, nor do the images of the two standard layouts show up in the wp-admin screen. I can chose between the two themes and all the text appears correctly, but there are no immages showing the themes either. For additional info, my page currently looks like this: http://technophile.eu
I tried to upload the wp-content folder again, but it didn’t help. I also downloaded another theme and it shows up with the other themes in the selection, but with the same affect of showing no graphics.
Thanks for your help.
