I’ve had to resort to putting the upload directory to 777 whenever I need to upload files (and resetting them back later to avoid security issues, of course).
This is very tiring D:
Nevertheless I would have to manually switch them by touching the config file.

I’ve tested it myself and it works (tl;dr: just disable the JavaScript option)
