Oops. I figured it out.
I had copied and pasted some code so that the special characters in
[zotpressInText format="% amp;#91;% num% ]" item="{AMBHFC9R,479}"]
had changed to
[zotpressInText format="[%num%]" item="{AMBHFC9R,479}"]
