Equal col heights are a bit complicated. You can use media queries or a js plugin. Haven’t used it personally, but have you tried this plugin? https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/equal-height-columns/
Sounds more like a hosting problem then a wordpress problem.

I had a customer with this problem, it turned out to be that they had posts and pages with the same slug. So I would check that.

How I would go about it is to backup using a plugin like updraft then create the new site locally or on another install then use updaft to move it when you’ve finished and do that at a time when your traffic is at it’s lowest.
