Email Not Specified error during importing

The process that I want to do is to bulk delete the unnecessary users by importing CSV files which involved the important users only. But when I importing that CSV file of users and deleting users ticking “Delete users that are not present in the CSV?” , there is error of “Email not specified” for most of the users and there is no effect in the users list with no changes. How to solve it?

The problem is that you are not using the correct format.

Could you share us a row with data (fake data to prevent privacy problems) and I tell you what’s wrong?

The row you sent me is correct (there are 514 correct rows) but more 9000 rows bad formed. Please check your CSV.

In my WordPress, there are over 9700+ users but I only want 610 users to be left on my site and want to bulk delete the rest of users. Therefore, I made a CSV file which involved that 610 users and imported to WordPress but there was that error.

So you have a bad formed CSV with thousend of empty lines maybe.

Thoes over 9000+ lines are already deleted in my CSV files. There are only information of 610 users I want for my site and imported to the WordPress by ticking “Delete users not present in CSV” to bulk delete the rest of 9000+ users.

But it seems they are not deleted. They are empty but not deleted (this is what I can suppose from here).

If you don’t mind, can you give me step by step instructions to bulk delete the users? (From exporting CSV file to importing CSV file) Because I feel my process is wrong or something….

The only thing I can think of in your case here (sorry but from the forum I can’t do much more) is to make sure with a code editor that the CSV is empty in the lines you see empty with the spreadsheet.

Yes, there were only 3 or 4 lines but I couldn’t delete it. As soon as the file format is changed from Excel Wordbook to CSV, the empty lines are appeared.

You should not use Excel to manage CSV.

Or a code editor or a seriuos spreadsheet for CSV like LibreOffice or OpenOffice.

The correct file format is “Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File (.csv)“, right?

Format is CSV.

And as you use Windows and Office (it seems) you see it, but this is incorrect.

You should manage CSV with LibreOffice.

The exported file is also in “Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File (.csv)” file format. So, do you mean, I need to manage (filtering and deleting unnecessary users data) that file in LibreOffice?

Sorry but those are title that your OS (Windows I suppose) and Excel gives to the .csv file extension. As I told you before: Excel is not a good program to manage CSV files (text/csv mime type).

Any code editor or a good spreadsheet for CSV files (like LibreOffice) should fix your problem.
