• Morning
We are getting the following error on mxChat when asking a question:

Sorry, there was an error with the Gemini API: This model models/gemini-3-pro-preview is no longer available. Please update your code to use a newer model for the latest features and improvements.

In mxChat settings AI model we have selected Gemini 3 Pro – the most recent on the selection.
There is not newer version. The plugin is up to date.

Please help with clearing this error.

    Thanks
    Cheers
    Belinda

    Hey @blferraz,

Gemini recently fully depreciated some models and that preview model used there is no longer available. This will be updated in the next day or two with a brand new list of Gemini models based on their recent releases!

    Thanks,

    Maxwell

Ok thanks – so for the next day or two the mxChat plugin will not be working?

    Hi @blferraz,

Well, that one specific model (Gemini 3 Pro) will not work. I can give you the correct model ID to use if you’d like to update the code yourself for the next day or two.

If you do not want to update the model ID yourself you can also use Gemini 3 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Pro, Gemini 2.5 Flash, Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite, or any of the other models available until the new version is released. Using Gemini 3 flash is likely a better option to use anyways as its quicker and almost as good as Gemini 3 Pro. Gemini 3 pro will not make for a great chatbot model because it will be very slow to respond.

I will update you once the new version is available updating all Gemini models! Apologies for the inconvenience.

One last note @blferraz, I will see if I can get version 3.2.7 out later today to fix this, but I have many other updates bundled in 3.2.7 already, so I just need to go through testing QA phase for all of the other updates included with it before releasing.

Great – thanks for the feedback and advice.
I am very new to mxchat so not to sure on the workings. We are on the free version trying it out before purchasing the plugin.

    Thanks
