Fronpage-tr was on the other page in the panel pages… here you can see:http://yildizhumanities.com/?page_id=1330

Fronpage came with the theme which is all in English. I translated to turish as Fronpage-TR. Events is Program in Turkish.

Yes it could be a solution because there is a wrong step, but I didn’t figure out what.

Deactivate your other plugins before to follow these steps:

    1) Activate Polylang

    2) Create your languages => Settings > Languages > Tab Languages

    3) Choose your permalinks => Settings > Permalinks: i.e:”Post name”

    4) Create your static front pages per language => Pages > Add new.
e.i: “Homepage english” (original page) click on the plus sign and create another “Homepage turkish”.
4.1) Define your static front page => Settings > Reading: select “A static page (select below)”. In the dropdown “Front page:” select “Homepage english”.

    5) Choose your Polylang settings => Settings > Languages > tab “Settings”: i.e:”The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks”

    6) Create your widget => Appearance > Widgets.

    7) Create your content (pages, posts, categories..) which go in menus. Don’t forget to click on the plus sign to create another translation.

    8) Create your menus. One per language => Appearance > Menus. Put in your menus: Homepage, Language switcher, category …
You must put at least one page or post if you want they appear on your website.
Don’t forget to assign your menus in “Manage locations” tab.

I am deleting everything now, i wll redo all following your instructions…. btw i do have a page called Home but i cant find it on the panel pages. i think it is a part of Frontpage. So i will create the translation of of Frontpage again…. I do not have any plugins except for three which a kind of came with the theme. should i deactivate them?

well, it seems something is wrong with my theme or there is a conflict between theme and polylang…. if you want i can still give my password for the wordpress dashboard, if not i dont know what to do…

In the source code your english frontpage is a parent page but not your turkish frontpage. Why?

Did you create turkish contents like your english contents and linked them by the pen icon?

There is many differences between your english content and turkish content.
i.e with “Speakers”. On home you have Speakers (Lorem ipsum..) … and another Speakers (Keep your eyes peeled ..) when you click on the “Speakers” in your menus.
No equivalent in your turkish content.

It’s not seem to be a conflict problem but more a turkish content not achieve for the moment.

I traslated Fronpage as Anasayfa and both are parent pages. I have two Speakers in English. One is child page of frontpaage, i didt translate it. I translate the one which is a parent page:Speakers (Keep your eyes peeled ..). The translation page of Speakers is Konuşmacılar and it contains some meaningless letters…. I didnt put ant real content now, I will after I fix the existance of both languages as frontpages and on the menus….
