Installation WooCommerce
-
Hello,
After searching several forum threads for a solution to this problem, I haven’t found the right solution.
After installing WooCommerce, I can no longer access WooCommerce > Home.
The page most often displays an error message: “An error occurred while getting your inbox. Please try again.”
Sometimes, a slightly more complete page appears, but not completely.
Most of the time, the page goes blank and returns to the beginning of the store setup even though it’s already installed.
If I reconfigure the store, the WooPayments configuration information disappears, and I have to launch the store again.
It seems like the store keeps looping without actually installing.
I’ve tried several solutions:- Disabled WooPayments
- Disabled Akismet anti-spam
- Deleted all WooCommerce extensions and reinstalled everything. – Cleared caches and updated databases.
- Modified PHP/OVH

I’m sharing the report. https://pastebin.com/ni1VTbnF
Thank you for your help.

Hello,
Here is the second version of the link to the system report after disabling all plugins except WooCommerce.
https://gist.github.com/Valhyne/3ec98b2c7d9fe1d7820903bbceb50a0b#file-gistfile2-txt
Storefront was enabled.Yes I do, then I re-enabled the plugins one by one, browsing and testing each time, and the security plugins last.
The result is that the more plugins are enabled, the more unpredictable the results. When reactivating and deactivating the following plugins:
- Yoast
- Really Simple Security
- Updraft Plus
- Jetpack
I either get an error message:
“An error occurred while getting your inbox. Please try again. Reload.”
Or I return to the store configuration page.
Like the following screens: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MH1sl8Pg9VRQcjhQes5kb8MvJBGl8HED?usp=drive_link
Then, in the last few days, it seems that the bug returns after a certain amount of time spent browsing the backend.
It returns to the WooCommerce store configuration page.It seems that if I go back, the store settings remain active, and the products and orders are still displayed.
Is this bug separate from the use of the store?
If I “go back” and go back, can you confirm that this doesn’t change anything in customer purchases, the sales funnel, or the store’s functionality?Thank you for your help.
Hi @evalhyn,
Thanks again for all the detailed information!
To confirm, this issue only affects the admin dashboard and won’t impact your store’s frontend. Your customers can still browse and place orders as expected, so your sales funnel and functionality remain intact.
The inconsistent behavior you’re seeing is likely related to strict security headers or rules, possibly coming from a plugin or custom .htaccess entries.
As a next step, we recommend resetting your .htaccess file to the default WordPress version. Here’s how: https://hostingspell.com/blog/how-to-reset-the-default-htaccess-in-wordpress/
Alternatively, you can reach out to your hosting provider, they can help you safely restore or reset the .htaccess file.
Let us know how it goes!
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback and comments.
I asked my hosting provider to check. After checking, they found no anomalies on my hosting, which is fully active and functional.
After this response from the hosting provider, the .htaccess file was reset following your advice.
However, the problem persists.
Thank you for your help.
Hi @evalhyn,
Thank you for the update and for confirming that your host found no anomalies. I also appreciate you taking the extra step to reset the .htaccess file — that helps rule out one common cause.
Based on the screenshots you shared, especially the “An error occurred while getting your inbox” message and the repeated prompt to reconfigure the store, it looks like this may be caused by a persistent issue with the WooCommerce Admin inbox feature (which powers the WooCommerce > Home screen). This often happens due to either:
- A blocked REST API request from a security or caching plugin
- A Jetpack or WooCommerce Services connection issue
- A corrupted or stuck transient or usermeta value in the database
Since the issue returns intermittently and mostly affects the admin panel, your shop’s public frontend and customer orders remain unaffected. That means you can continue selling while we work to stabilize the dashboard.
Here are a few next steps to try:
- Flush Transients:
- Install and activate the “Transients Manager” plugin.
- Go to Tools > Transients and clear all transients.
- Then refresh your WooCommerce Home page.
- Check REST API Status:
- Go to WooCommerce > Status > Tools and scroll down to the “Verify base WooCommerce REST API endpoints” tool.
- Run it and let us know if any errors show up.
- Check for Jetpack / WCS Connection Conflicts:
- If Jetpack or WooCommerce Services is active, try reconnecting them.
- You can also test temporarily deactivating these to check if the WooCommerce Home stabilizes.
Let us know which of these steps you try and what the results are. That will help us figure out what’s interfering in the background. Looking forward to helping you resolve this fully!
Hi,
Merci pour les tests proposés :1-Transitoires de rinçage :
Installez et activez le plugin « Transients Manager ».
Allez dans Outils > Transitoires et effacez tous les transitoires.
Ensuite, actualisez votre page d’accueil WooCommerce.TEST :
Hi @evalhyn,
Thank you for the detailed explanation. I understand how overwhelming this issue must have been, and I appreciate both your contribution and patience so far.
I’d like us to try a quick off-site test. Please create a subdomain on your server, using the same hosting provider, and install a fresh WordPress instance on it — with no other plugins. Then, install the WooCommerce plugin there and let me know if you’re able to set it up without encountering the error.
Additionally, I’d like us to take a step back to better understand the situation. You mentioned about a month ago that the issue had been resolved, and originally it appeared when you were setting up WooCommerce.
When the issue came back, did it occur on the WooCommerce admin pages, or were you trying to run the setup process again? Or does the setup screen automatically appear by default? Could you clarify what you were doing when the issue reappeared after it had previously been resolved?
Hello,
When I reported that everything was working, I had reinstalled all of WooCommerce from my WooCommerce account.
That day, everything seemed to be working, but when I logged back in a few days later, the problem returned, and the call-to-actions in my WooCommerce account again showed “Add to Store.”
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MH1sl8Pg9VRQcjhQes5kb8MvJBGl8HEDActually, the store works, but in WordPress, in the back office, if I click on WooCommerce – Home, I get random error messages, and one of them necessarily redirects me to the store creation page. So I go back so as not to start all over again, but I no longer have access to the settings page. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MH1sl8Pg9VRQcjhQes5kb8MvJBGl8HED
When I log in a few days later, the WooCommerce back office – Home page sometimes appears, but after a while the problem returns.
The problem is in the back office.
Thank you for your help.
Hi @evalhyn,
Thank you for the clarification and for sharing the screenshot. From your explanation, it sounds like WooCommerce is installed and working correctly on the front end, but you’re running into an error when accessing the WooCommerce home page in the admin area.
Looking at the error and the screenshots you provided, could you please confirm which of them takes you to the store creation page? Is it the first one, the second one, or both?
Hello,
Yes, the bug occurs in the back office when you go to WooCommerce > Home.
These three messages appear randomly.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MH1sl8Pg9VRQcjhQes5kb8MvJBGl8HED
And most often, the store installation configuration page appears.
Thanks for your advice.Hi @evalhyn,
Thank you for the clarification. From your explanation and the screenshots, it seems like the issue could be linked to your server configuration or a security setting on your site.
The 500 error usually indicates something isn’t quite right at the server level. In this case, it would be best to contact your hosting provider and ask them to review the server error logs. If possible, please share a screenshot of those logs with them too — this will help speed up the investigation.
Regarding the “Une erreur est survenue lors de l’obtention de votre boîte de réception” message, this typically happens when there’s a connectivity issue between your site and the WooCommerce API. It could be caused by something blocking those requests, such as a firewall, security plugin, CDN (like Cloudflare), or server-level security rules.
Both of these issues could also explain why you’re seeing the WooCommerce configuration page unexpectedly. Again, your hosting provider should be able to help check for any restrictions or errors on the server side.
Once you hear back from them, please keep us updated. It would also be helpful if you could reshare your system status report via Pastebin or gist.github.com so we can take a closer look at your setup.
