    Product: MXChat (Knowledge Base – PDF Import)
    Issue Type: Bug – Processing Failure

    Description:
    The PDF upload and processing feature does not work. When clicking the Process Batch button, the system immediately fails and displays a popup error:

    Popup Error Message:

    Error: [object Object]

    The processing status bar remains stuck at 0%:

    • Progress: 0 of 1 pages (0%)
    • Status: Processing → instantly errors out

    Expected Behavior:
    The PDF should be successfully processed (text extraction, chunking, vectorization) and added to the knowledge base without errors.

    Actual Behavior:
    Processing stops instantly with a generic JavaScript error message. Nothing gets imported.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Go to: Knowledge Base → PDF Import
    2. Upload any valid PDF (multiple tested)
    3. Click Process Batch
    4. Observe popup error and failed processing

    Additional Notes:

    • This issue has persisted previously → I had to manually add content instead of using PDF import
    • PDFs tested open normally in external viewers

    Hi @marcellt,

    Are you able to link me to the PDF and or send it to me privately for review? Often when this occurs its due to the PDF being corrupted, malformed, or not OCR. Once I’m able to see the PDF I’ll be able to test and review what is going on!

    Marking as resolved for now. I tested the PDF and it seemed to work. If you still experience issues please let me know.
