    Hi norico,

The post order should be maintained by default. Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

If that doesn’t help, would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this please open up the linked page in the editor and click the Layout button in the Page Builder toolbar. Then click import/export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

    Ok! After test.
On twenty seventeen sticky post first.
On generate (child) sticky sticky post first.

It’s only when category was selected sticky not on first.
    Thx

    Hi norico,

If that’s the case, your child theme is overriding the loop which is why this is occurring. To clarify, what does your child theme do? Does it add additional functionality or is it purely there for styling?

    hi Alexgso

I wish to preserve the order of posts even if a taxonomy is selected.

    Hi norico,

I understand what you’re trying to do / the desired outcome. That’s actually how loop is handled by default (as in, you don’t have to change anything to get your desired outcome) so your child theme is changing the loop to prevent your desired ordering. I’m trying to work out what part of your child theme is preventing the loop from working as desired.

To confirm, did you create your child theme? What is parent theme of your child theme?

    Good evening,
I use a child theme of genratepress.
when I request posts without taxonomies, it works well.
When I only ask for posts in the category “news” sticky posts behave like simple posts.
    thx

    Hi Norico,

Does this issue occur when you’re using GenratePress?

Also, can you please elaborate on what you mean by simple posts? I ask because that sounds like a different issue to the post ordering issue.

    Good evening,

no it is not only on generatepress. this produces on other themes.
Regarding the order of the posts, I will give an example.

posts with * was sticky posts

    with no taxonomies : post-200* post-150* post-180 post-184 post-170

    with taxonomies : post-200* post-184 post-150*

    —-
post-180 and post-170 was not in taxonomies

    thx

    Hi norico,

Please create two tests pages, one with the issue present and the other with no issue. Then please link me to those two pages. This will allow me to inspect the resulting markup of the page itself?

    Hi norico,

Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to replicate this issue with the provided layout.

Are you able to replicate this issue on a different website?

If so, at this point, we really need to take a closer look at your overall settings as we haven’t been able to replicate this issue with the provided layout. We aren’t however allowed to ask for login details. Would it be possible for you to post on our forums so we can take a closer look? (please do not include anything private/sensitive in your initial post as the threads are public).
