• Can someone please help me??? My best friend and the person who built my wordpress site passed away before Thanksgiving.. she took care of everything and now my site doesn’t work at all. I managed to get godaddy to reregister my domain back to me by supplying them with legal documentation but how do I get control of this end of things so I can find another person to help me? I am in real estate and can’t have my site down for months. I found on her computer what I think may be the login information but it doesn’t seem to work. HELP

  • Have her son search the computer for .sql or .sql.gz (or similar) file extensions. The file names may not be easily recognizable (but they might).

so inept at all this but that’s why I hire people to do these things.

I could never afford managed hosting, and please never accept any solicitation anyone might make here in these forums.

If you can afford the expense, my suggestion for you would be a reputable company

Sorry, but I’m going to remove those links, leejosepho – this really starts being too spammy, sorry. I know you’re just trying to help, but as you know discussion of paid help and hosting aren’t allowed here.

Thank you WPyogi.. I just may have to do that. Bill, I have sent email to her son asking him to search her computer with your file extension suggestions. He says he’s pretty computer savy so we’ll see. James, I will keep these login’s.. I know she built numerous wordpress websites for other small business owners too that may not even know they don’t have a web site any longer. She built this one and I see it’s still up and running though??

The owner of that site is probably the one paying the hosting bill for it, I’d guess.

Fingers crossed that you can recover a backup!
