i seem to get a odd response in the chat window when I make an inquiry about process about my service I am told about a manual input and sent to a website page. Not sure if I can send a screen shot here. Why can’t I simply upload a screen shot?

    regards Jason

    Hi @mrcurrie,

I’m not 100% sure what your issue is based on the description, but if I had to guess what I think you are asking is that it sounds like you submitted content into knowledge database using the “manual entry” option. Then when the chatbot is responding its trying to link to this manual entry. You can change AI instructions some and say “never cite your source” or you can turn off citation links in the settings.

okay thanks but if I turn of citations links that would also mean blocking links that might be helpful?

Would I add  “never cite your source” in the annual entry box with the text?

Well it depends on what your goal is. You can add instructions like “never cite your source” in the AI behavior box or a more reliable option is the setting that forces the AI to never cite its sources which is disable citation links. But as you mentioned, both of these will cause it to not cite ANY source. It sounds like maybe you want some of the citations to appear, but maybe there is a behavior of it trying to cite entries that were manually submitted (so in the knowledge database these will show has “manual” instead of having a source). If thats the case, you can try to say like “never cite your source if its from a MANUAL entry” and try that. If you have a query I can test on your front end of website I’m more than happy to take a look to see exactly what you’re referring to!

While help you with this I think I may have discovered a bug as well. It seems if you submit content manually with no citation source at all the AI will not use it for context. Fixing that now and will be updated tomorrow. This seems to be what you are hoping to do, correct? To submit content manually but provide no citation link for it so the AI just responds with the info but not cite anything from your knowledge database.

yes in that instance … If you go to

    mobilerustdoctor.con and ask

how much is a mini it gives some info but also a strange manual link text which looks odd. How do I get rid of that now?

    Cheers

    Hey @mrcurrie,

I was able to test and see the manual content link you are referring to.
    [Pricing](mxchat://manual-content/1772281125-rkSRTvu3).

My guess is that you have been using the plugin for a little because there was a bug in earlier versions that when submitting content manually it would automatically add that mxchat://manual-content. In newer versions when submitting content manually with no source link they are labeled with “manual” in the knowledge database and are easy to find. From here you have two options, either try to find your manual entries by just viewing them in the knowledge database and clicking the view source link to see which ones go to that sort of manual URL.

Or you can try to add an AI instruction in the behavior section that says “Very important: Do not ever cite a source coming from mxchat://manual-content/.” If you are using a frontier model it should be able to follow those directions rather well.
