Encountering an issue with our multi-vendor WordPress site using the Dokan plugin. When a customer places an order with products from multiple vendors, a single order number is assigned (e.g., 100). Sub-orders for items from different vendors are created under this main order number and are visible in the admin panel.

Problem: When we update the status of these sub-orders, the main order number changes (e.g., from 100 to 345). This results in multiple order notification emails being sent out, causing confusion. The issue appears to occur randomly.

    Awaiting your response!!!

We also checked with woocommerce and they asked to check with Dokan. https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/order-number-changes-in-multi-vendor-setup-2/#new-topic-0

We are actually frustrated because its been almost 4 days and no on bothered to reply to this ticket – woocommerce itself replied, but dokan didnt.

    Hello @fathimanisha,

I’ve investigated the problem you described, where the main order number changes randomly when updating the status of sub-orders, resulting in multiple order notification emails being sent. However, after thorough testing on my local platform, I have been unable to reproduce this issue.

As you mentioned that the issue occurs randomly, it’s quite difficult for me to pinpoint the cause or replicate it under controlled conditions. Additionally, I haven’t received similar reports from other users, which leads me to believe this might be a site-specific issue.

To help me further investigate, I kindly request that you try to identify any patterns or specific actions that trigger the issue. If you’re able to find any consistency in the behavior, please let me know, and I will attempt to follow that pattern in order to reproduce the issue on my end.

    Thanks!

We want to continue the conversation from this discussion https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/order-number-changes-in-multi-vendor-setup/#new-topic-0 .

A new issue emerged on December 11th. We’re experiencing a problem where updating sub-orders automatically changes the sub-order numbers, while the main order numbers remain unaffected. Previously, both main and sub-order numbers would change; now, only sub-order numbers are impacted.

    Explaining briefly:

    1. Some multiple-vendor orders have consecutive order numbers for sub-orders, following the main order number.

    2. Other sub-orders have random, unique numbers that don’t follow the main order number, but are consecutive within their own subset.

    3. But In ShipRocket, sub-orders consistently follow the main order number with consecutive numbering for all orders.

    4. We’re unsure whether this issue originates from our e-commerce platform, Dokan, or Shiprocket, as we’re using the Shiprocket plugin for tracking integration.
