I installed this plugin just now, and when I tried to activate it I got

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION, expecting ‘)’ in /home1/satohear/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gmail-smtp/google-api-php-client/src/Google/autoload.php on line 19

I am on the latest version of WordPress and I did install and activate it a week ago with no issues, but then deactivated it and deleted it.

Version I’m trying to install 1.1.1
    WP version: 4.7.1

Hi, Can you at least activate it (with warnings)? or is it a fatal error? If it can be activated Please copy and paste the content from the “Server Info” tab so I can check some details.

    Hi,

No, it cannot be activated at all, it’s a fatal error so I cannot use it. If there is anything in particular you need to know, I can get that for you.

it might be a PHP thing. What version of PHP are you using?

    PHP version is 5.6.29

This issue was reported by another user where the PHP version was less than 5.4

But that is not the case here. Can you please contact your host to see if they can identify the source of this issue? I did some research but couldn’t find anything viable related to this topic.

I’m using another plugin now, it took you over a week where you just asked one question to diagnose to tell me you couldn’t help me :-). I’d say support for this plugin is lacking.
