PayPal scripts slowing down website
-
We have run a site speed test at
It says: The main thread was blocked for 1856 ms
Among the results, we’re seeing these:
66 ms: https://www.paypalobjects.com/muse/muse.js
102 ms: https://www.paypalobjects.com/muse/analytics/index.html
If I’m understand the time factor correctly here, this is nearly a 7 second delay on our site load time just for PayPal scripts. We would like to ask why are these scripts loading on our home page? I can understand why they would load wherever there is a cart or checkout page for people to choose PayPal as their payment option. But I do not understand why these scripts would be called and slow down our website on all pages of the site. We did not agree to provide analytics data on our entire site to PayPal.
Also note that I’ve seen our site seem to hang on these PayPal script calls. So on some occasions, it may be longer than a 7 second delay being caused. This is unacceptable.
Please let us know how to disable these scripts from running sitewide but still be able to accept PayPal payment through our Woocommerce store. Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
Also note that I tried to log in to ask this question on the Woocommerce website, but your page here:
Open a Support Request – WooCommerce
is not working correctly. We did not receive the e-mail it said was sent. We tested that our e-mail address was working and it was. We did not get the e-mail in our inbox or any junk folder. I then followed the instructions to log out of WordPress.com and then log back in, but that did not trigger any message saying our account hasn’t been activated. So we cannot get into your woocommerce.com support forum.
