Hi, the app_id is incorrect, please read the installation instructions (specifically the part about Application ID) at http://wp-connect.tomasvorobjov.com/docs/#configure
Hi,
I’ve already done that, and it took me here:
https://developers.facebook.com/apps
I’m not sure what the next step is…
thanks
Just go to http://developers.facebook.com/setup/, enter your Site Name and URL (http://thomaskaufman.com/wordpress) and create a new app. Then copy the “App ID/API Key” value and paste it into the Application ID field.
Hi
I’ve done as you said, and FB took me to this page: https://developers.facebook.com/apps
Not sure how to proceed, or where the App ID/API key” is located.
thanks
You can use to following app id: 132689533505353
if you let me know your facebook account, I’ll transfer the application to you
I appreciate your help, but could you explain how you got the app ID ? My account? Not sure, here’s the link to my page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=639049497
thanks
Ok so when you’re at https://developers.facebook.com/apps
1.) on the right side click on “create new app”
2.) enter “app display name” (this can be anything)
3.) leave the “app namespace” empty (as it is not needed)
4.) agree to the “I agree to the Facebook Platform Policies.”
4a.) fill in the captcha
5.) under “basic info” set “App Domain:” to the domain of your blog
6.) under “Select how your app integrates with Facebook” click on “Website” and set the “Site URL” to the homepage URL of your blog
7.) Your App ID (Api Key) is under “Summary” -> “Settings”
Thanks, I could follow all these steps with no problem, but when I got back to the Dashboard on WP, the red error message was gone. How do I input this new information? (I still have the error message on my site)
thanks
Never mind, I see it on the dashboard. I’ve input this ID, supplied by Facebook: 192752084137076
What should I use for Application Admins?
Stil getting the error message on my site, plus it looks like it’s appearing twice.
thanks
You should be all set, just the pages that displayed the error before may need to be reset in facebook’s cache. This can be done by inputing the url into the Facebok Linter tool at http://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug
I did it already for http://thomaskaufman.com/wordpress/?p=392
Okay, now it seems to be without an error message, but it is still appearing twice. It would be nice to have it there just once.
thanks
Hmmm, that looks like you’re using a custom page as your homepage. What you’ll need to do is to disable the comments for that page. For that, go to Pages and edit the page that is set as your homepage – for details see http://wp-connect.tomasvorobjov.com/docs/#plugins-position – basically you need to set “Comments” value to “Disabled”
To see which page is set as your homepage, go to “Settings” -> “Reading” and see the “Front page displays”
I’m using InFocus as my theme, and don’t see a Comment box that I can disable.
Sorry, meant to say that I went to “Settings” -> “Reading” and the “Front page displays” but did not see a Comments value.
As this is a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme vendors.
