    Hi! How are you doing?
I’m having some problem with the conecction between jetpack and WordPress.com. I have tried different things to fix this problem; desactivated different plugins, checked the XML ..even I desinstalled and installed again Jetpack…but nothing happened.
I don’t know if it could be the Php version the origin of the problem..I have the 7.4 version.
Anyway…besides the warning that it shows, that I should try to connect again with WordPress.com…there is another error:
    27-Aug-2020 20:31:33 UTC] PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home2/vintagem/public_html/vintagemoderngirls.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/vendor/automattic/jetpack-sync/src/class-sender.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php74/usr/share/pear’) in /home2/vintagem/public_html/vintagemoderngirls.com/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/vendor/autoload_functions.php on line 39

Hope you can help me. Thank U!

    Hey there,

It sounds like your Jetpack install might be corrupted or missing some files. If you didn’t do it this way already, could you please log in to your site via wp-admin and delete the existing Jetpack plugin files?

Once you have done so please install Jetpack again from Plugins -> Add New and try to activate it and see if you get the same fatal error notification.

Let me know if that works for you.

    Thanks!

Hi! Thank you for your answer.
Yes, I have already done it more than twice. I deleted via Wp-admin and also via the Cpanel and the problem continues existing :(.

Hmm, according to the debugger at https://tools.jetpack.com/debug/?url=https://www.vintagemoderngirls.com/ the Jetpack connection for your site is fine.

It does appear your site is still on WordPress: 5.4.2 – the most recent version is 5.5. Can you please see if updating WordPress to the newest version helps?

@akiraanastasia please don’t post into other people’s threads. We’ll reply to you in your own thread you created at https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/problem-connecting-with-wordpress/

Hi Kokkie! Thank U for your answer. I would do that, but the problem is WordPress 5.5 is having many mistakes, specially with the use of plugins. I updated WordPress to the newest version and I had to come back to 5.4.2 version, as my hosting recommended me. Do you think installing an older jetpack version might be the solution?

If WordPress 5.5 is causing problems with plugins you have installed, it’s likely because the authors of those plugins haven’t updated them to be compatible with the most recent version of WordPress. In that case you need to contact support for those plugins so they get updated.

Most of the issues other plugins have with WordPress 5.5 is due to the removal of jquery-migrate in that update. So you can see if this plugin helps with that:

    https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

But I have no idea if using an older version of Jetpack will help here, and I also don’t recommend it – using outdated software on your site is never a good idea, and we can’t help with issues caused by using an older version of WordPress or Jetpack.
