I have the same problem as this old, unresolved, closed topic: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/require-registered-users-to-log-in-before-making-comments

I have a site with a couple of registered admins and a huge number of non-registered commenters. Commenters only need to enter name, email, comment without logging in.

The problem is, anyone who knows the admin’s email address can use it in the comment form, and their comment will be posted with the formatting reserved for admins. In effect: they can comment pretending to be an admin.

Is there a way to require authentication or login if a user tries to comment using an admin’s email address?

The behavior I want is similar to wordpress.com. If you have a registered WP account and try to comment on another WP.com blog using your WP.com email, the system asks you to log in first.

(If this is not possible, do you have other suggestions? Perhaps, how to send a comment straight to moderation if it uses an admin’s email address while not logged in?)

    Thanks.
