The plugin does not have a valid header.
-
Hello,
I was able to install this plugin a week ago and now I cannot update nor reinstall.
I now keep getting a blank page with the following error message every time I activate the plugin:
“The plugin does not have a valid header.”
What is the cause of this? What can I do about it?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards.

This might be related to an incomplete download.
I have just downloaded/installed mega-cache with no problem.
Do you have FTP access?
If so, please remove /wp-content/plugins/mega-cache.
Then download and install it again.Hi,
I have already tried everything. After uninstalling, there are no more traces. I don’t get the error message anymore now, but when I want to view the Mega Cache plugin settings, it doesn’t work. Then the website hangs and the processor itself runs to 100 percent.
I do work on Windows IIS systems. However, it worked before.
This is certainly not normal. Never experienced it before.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance. Not sure I understand, how can you “Mega Cache plugin settings” if mega-cache is uninstalled?
100 CPU is probably related to some sort of loop.
Please delete wp-content/advanced-cache.php if you have manually removed mega-cache without disabling it first.
Check wp-content/mu-plugins for files
Check wp-content/advanced-cache.php
Check wp-content/object-cache.phpobject-cache.php can cause the 100% issue.
If all this is clear, you can download atec-support plugin form our site and send the log via email for us to analyse.
In a clean install, (as noted above) mega-cache should work with no probs.
Let me know.Hi,
Meanwhile, I also tried to install the “atec Cache APCu” plugin and got exactly the same problem.
I cannot reach the “atec Cache APCu” plugin settings. The website freezes. Then it is very likely you have one or more of the above files, maybe from another plugin that you have tested.
Post the dir tree if you want.
Also, you can enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log in wp-config.php to log any script errors. That would be helpful.Hi,
What is the best thing I do now?
Do install and activate “Mega Cache” and then provide the Debug info, or remove everything?
Indeed, I had installed your “Mega Cache” before and it worked perfectly. Today I wanted to install the updates and it went wrong.
I also use the “Atec Cache Info” plugin which I use to clear caches among other things because I also use OPCache. I am using the latest PHP 8.4.5 version.
Thanks for your fast support, even on a Sunday. 🙂No remove mega-cache and the files i have mentioned to get to a clean point to start from.
you can then install atec-support or atec-debug and enable debugging so we can find the root of the error.
makes no sense to install anything if there is another hidden error.
also you can send screenshots from dirs / and /wp-content and other info, like atec-cache-info cache tab.
https://screen2.linkHi,
Where can I find those atec-support or atec-debug plugins, please?I cannot download this atec-support plugin. I get following error message: “Oops! Diese Seite wurde nicht gefunden.”
Hi,
Do you possibly have a separate support email address that I can send everything to? Because I don’t wish to post everything here publicly. This because of Security guidelines and private settings.
Thanks in advance.or install atec-debug from WP library.
sure, but i am not allowed to post it here, please check our website for our support email.
Ok, indeed I already found this. Thanks.
I already sent debug info by email. And more is coming…
