    Hello,
I was able to install this plugin a week ago and now I cannot update nor reinstall.
I now keep getting a blank page with the following error message every time I activate the plugin:
“The plugin does not have a valid header.”
What is the cause of this? What can I do about it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards.

    Hi,
I have sent some of this via email.
Can you proceed with this? Or send me here or by email what you still need.
In any case thank you very much for finding out what is wrong or what causes it. Because I know by now that your plugins are very interesting. The speed gain is quite big and especially better than other such plugins. I hope the problem can be solved.

    Hi,
I will communicate back here for now as I am now at work.
I was able to test things again on another similar Windows platform with IIS web server version 10 with PHP versions 8.4.4 and the latest 8.4.5 and indeed discovered similar problems as yesterday.
    I will summarise here:
After installing the Mega Cache plugin Version 1.0.54, I did get a temporary error message after activation: ‘Mega Cache: 1Failed to create plugin tables.’. See screen copy for this: https://screen2.link/l7EFJz6Y0Ite.jpeg
After a refresh of the web page, this error message disappears.
The Mega Cache plugin Version 1.0.54 works well with PHP 8.4.4 as well as with PHP 8.4.5.
From Mega Cache plugin Version 1.0.55 and above, it no longer works. Not on PHP 8.4.4 or PHP 8.4.5.
As I mentioned yesterday, I suspect that from Mega Cache plugin Version 1.0.55 onwards, there are compatibility issues with PHP versions on Windows systems.
I cannot install Mega Cache plugin Version 1.0.54 and above by default. I keep getting the error message ‘The plugin does not have a valid header.’. I have to install it manually.
However, I have removed everything related to other cache settings and/or files etc. I don’t think this is normal either. Because manually it works.
I don’t have much time today to test further. But can work again this evening from my home from 7pm (European – Brussels timezone).
Meanwhile, let me know more here if you find anything interesting…

Thank you for the details and for providing feedback.

I think it is not related to PHP but to a change I have made in the SQL prepare statement, that is not Windows compatible.

    Let me work on that.

    Ok, thank you very much.
It is true that it is definitely Windows related.
I also understand that we are a very small group with Windows hosting challenges. Nevertheless, there are still initiators and enthusiasts like me who continue to believe in it.
Here in my area, there are still many companies working with Windows Servers and indeed working with the IIS Web servers.
I would also like to add that I have experienced similar problem with the Atec APCu Cache plugin. Perhaps a similar cause as well.
I greatly appreciate your efforts and time.
I look forward to being able to use the new updates.
I would most certainly like to help test any beta versions of new versions of your plugins. Especially cache plugins are my favorites.
Please feel free to let me know.

Atec APCu Cache does not use any database, so we have to investigate for other issues there.

I will send you an updated mega-cache via email, if that is ok.

Of course you can send me emails. No problem at all.
I will test things as soon as I can.
