Hi @figmint,
Sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with the plugin. cURL errors, once of which you were encountering, are something configured at host level. It may be possible that there were changed made at host level in your case. I’m happy to discuss your case with the team further if you would like to give Site Kit another try. If so, let’s communicate from your support topic.
We’ve also added additional checks to the plugin to help determine any hosting related issues prior to attempting Site Kit set up and running into any cURL errors:

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.
Hi @figmint,
I’m just following up with you to check whether you’ve considered giving Site Kit another try, and if so did you encounter any further cURL errors? We’d love the opportunity to help identify where the error is coming from if so, with cURL errors typically hosting related.
I gave up on the effort to solve this problem. My hosting service had everything set properly regarding cURL settings. I decided that the plugin was non-essential for the sites and simply deleted it from all of my sites.

Understood. If you do wish to give it a try again let me know and I can assist with some cURL commands you can use directly from your host, to check can your host communicate with the Site Kit service.
