    WP 4.4.1 / WP Edit 3.7
A few moments after opening a post or page the text all aligns itself on the left hand side of the edit window in visual mode, i.e.:
    L
    i
    k
    e
    t
    h
    i
    s
In text mode this does not happen.
Posts and Pages show published BUT are not showing up anywhere.

    Please, any ideas?

I have also eliminated the “child” portion. This is a straight Graphene Theme now.

Ok, would you mind seeing if you have the same problem in the TinyMCE demo at https://www.tinymce.com/ ?

(WordPress uses TinyMCE as its editor.)

I entered several lines in the demo and no problems.

    I must admit, I’m a bit stumped.

    1. You have the same problem with all plugins deactivated and the Twenty Sixteen theme in use.

    2. You have the same problem with Firefox 44 and no Firefox add-ons enabled.

    3. You have the same problem after replacing all core files.

    4. You don’t have the same problem with the TinyMCE demo.

    Is all that correct?

    Hi,

    Yes to all the above.

Now, I have just been notified that a second website is having the same problem with its wysiwyg editor. Both sites are on the same shared hosting account with the ISP.

Can these be linked or is this just coincidence?

Hm, you could be on to something there. Do the sites have any plugins in common?

Additionally, can you disable anything like mod_security or “extra security” (or something similarly named) in the hosting account’s control panel to check against that?

Well nothing worked and the problem persists so I have created a new website to replace the old one from scratch. At least this allows me to get on with it. Perhaps someday I will figure out what went wrong, what caused it and how to fix it – just not today!

Thank you for your help and ideas. Even though the problem is unsolved, I learned a few new things which is a positive outcome.

You’re welcome, sorry we didn’t find the answer.

To fix the problem go to Appearance –Graphene Options – Display tab, and go all the way down to near the bottom where it says Miscellaneous Display Options. In the bottom of that section, tick the box for “Disable custom editor styles”. Instead of one character per line, your text will now be rendered at about half the content area, which seems to be what the rest of the pages have on them too.
