  • Thanks everyone for you comments. I’ll share what we did to resolve to problem in the hopes that it may help someone else.

I went to my File Manager and to the plugin folder several times and was unable to find the Yoast SEO plugin eventhough I knew that it had been installed and activated. I finally contacted VPS support with my hosting company and we both concluded that neither of us could find the plugin within the File Manager.

After exhausting all avenues, we finally went into the wp-content folder and re-named the “plugins” folder to “plugins1”. Upon doing this, I was then able to then access my website dashboard and deactivate then delete the Yoast SEO plugin. After doing so, we went back and re-named the “plugins1” folder to “plugins” again. I cleared the cache (history) and was was able to access my website dashboard normally again. I should note that I did have to re-activate all of my plugins again.

Marius, we did search the “wordpress seo” folder along with many others but couldn’t find the Yoast SEO plugin. The support rep as well as myself could not figure out why we couldn’t find the plugin.

I need to make the point that I’ve used and continue to use the Yoast SEO plugin on several of my other websites and find it to be a very good plugin. I assume the reason I had a problem with it this time was because the newer version of Yoast SEO is not compatible with the older theme version that I’m currently using with this particuler website.

Once again, Thank you everyone for your suggestions.

I installed Yoast SEO plugin this morning and as soon as I activated it I could no longer access my dashboard. I can login but after doing so, once again, I can’t access my dashboard. I know the plugin is currently activated and I need to somehow get into the dashboard to deactivate it.

I’ve used this plugin on several of my other sites with no issues. I could use some advice on how to get into the dashboard to deactivate this plugin.

    Thanks,
    Arcinstall

Thank you for getting back to me,

Enclosed is a link to my site and as you can see I’ve changed the background to a black linen. What I want to do now is change the inner portion (white area) to an image that I created myself and start building the site from there. Can I do this?
