    Hello Humanbieng,

Sorry for the problem with the images in your WordPress installation. When you tried to regenerate the thumbnails did you use a plugin? There are a couple of different plugins that may help in this case. Try this plugin and see if that doesn’t help get your images restored. If that still doesn’t work, then please let us know.

    Hello Cymortho,

Sorry for the problem with the WordPress site not working. First, I think that the main issue is confusion over what you’re importing from a WordPress.com site and then using in a stand-alone (ww.wp.xz.cn) installation. Typically, it’s been my experience that only data is being transferred into the ww.wp.xz.cn site. None of the functionality from the WordPress.com site should be transferred over. All of the installation files for the ww.wp.xz.cn site should be working via the web server and database server in the host that is the destination of the import (and the location of the standalone WordPress installation). The URL that you are using to access the site should be accessing this same installation. Can you please clarify how you are accessing the new site? It should be a different URL from your WordPress.com site. You said that you’re self-hosting as well. Does your host have all the necessary pre-requisites for the installation to work properly? It does sound like you managed to get it working at one point. If you were able to make it work BEFORE the import, then there should be no reason that the WordPress is not working. Please let us know how you installed it and what kind of platform you’re installing it to. If you can provide a URL for the installation, we can also look at the site to see what might be happening. If you haven’t already, make sure that you have the debug mode enabled (in the wp-config.php file). Please provide us a little more information and we can look at it further. If you are of a mind to start over, you can install a fresh standalone WordPress site and then use a plugin like the WordPress Importer. There’s also more information in the Codex about importing content.

    Kindest regards,
    Arnel C.

    Hello Krusbar,

Sorry for the issues with the line returns after each letter. Try troubleshooting by first disabling all of your plugins and then re-enabling them one at a time. You will have to check your editor with the activation of each plugin. You may also want to try this with the themes. Normally, the WordPress editor won’t make that kind problem unless something has changed with functionality or formatting. I also spent time looking on the web for an identical issue, but so far nothing. Please try editing by enabling your plugins. If that doesn’t work, make sure to try with default themes and fresh installations of WordPress. Apologies that we can’t fix immediately through this post.

Let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

    Regards,

    Hello Nipun21,

This error may require that you work with your host’s technical support in order to resolve. The suggestions to resolve this involve making the max_allowed_packet variable to be increased, or you may need to look at the MysQL log to see if the lost connections issue is detailed. The issue is discussed in further detail in this post.

Hope that helps to get the issue resolved!

    Hello Tymelock,

What you’re asking for is not something that is widely supported. I spent a little time looking and I did find ONE plugin that allows you to create emails through the WordPress interface – cPanel email manager. The main catch is that it’s $30 in order to allow your users to create the email accounts, AND your hosting server must use cPanel. Also, it is specifically for cPanel hosting servers. There may be other plugins that allow you to create emails, but it will require further searching.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

    Hello Patbell101,

Sorry for the spam on your email accounts. If you’re using security to make sure your site is not being infiltrated by malware, then that is good. Scripts that generate spam can often be loaded into websites. The way you’re getting spam suggests that your domain may already be on a spammer’s list, your website may be openly showing that email address, or you might have a script generating spam on your server. We often use SSH to review the mail logs to see where emails coming from in order to determine the source of the email.

If you can’t take that step then you should talk with your mail host to get more information. A WordPress installation itself typically has nothing to with a mailgun subdomain immediately getting spam – unless it’s infiltrated with malware that is the source of the spam. Your mail issue still would be better off addressed with your mail host.

    Kindest regards,
    Arnel C.

    Hello Catburlow,

The load time of a website is NOT an absolute. Not unless you have your own dedicated fiber cable direct to the ISP and there’s no traffic on the network or server other than yours. The type of hosting that you’re using will also be a factor. If you’re on a shared server (the cheapest type of hosting), then you will be sharing a server with many other websites. Depending on the load of the server at that time, your site might load slower or faster. If you want complete control of your host server (and it’s resources), you will need to have your own dedicated hosting server (typically the most expensive type of hosting service). If you can provide your site URL, we can take a look at the site and look to see what might be causing your site to load a little slower. If you want to check it yourself, a good site to use for performance indication is Gtmetrix.com.

Secure websites are not slower. And, if your site is truly as small as you’re saying, then the index.php shouldn’t be a factor unless you’re doing something pretty obtuse. We would need the URL in order to see what’s happening, though. If you can provide that information then we can make more objective observation of your site’s performance.

Hope that helps to answer your questions!

    Hello Ikohut,

I was taking a look at your installation procedure. Sorry for the issues with the install. It really should be fairly straightforward. I did see this tutorial while I was searching for a possible solution for you. Review their steps and see if it doesn’t help you resolve the installation problem you’re having.

    I hope that helps!

    Hello Ugochi,

Sorry for the issue that you’re having with the Gravatar image. I found a good article that gives you seven possible reasons for the error from Bing and then gives you code to fix it. Check it out and let us know if that doesn’t provide the fix that you need.

    I hope that helps!

    Hello Treesure,

Sorry that your email notifications don’t seem to work. There are two possibilities that I can think of that may cause emails not to work. By default, WP uses PHP to send mail. If your host’s php.ini file is not configured correctly, OR if for some reason their server security is blocking email then mail will not work. If you are using SMTP protocol (usually setup through a plugin), then you need to check your settings for the outgoing SMTP server and make sure that it is working. In both cases, the best thing for you to do is to work with your web hosting tech support in order to determine what’s causing your emails not to work.

I hope that helps you more quickly find the source of your email problem!

    Regards,
    Arnel C

    Hello Bigsmalluiverse,

Yes, your WP site is sending those emails. It’s part of the notification options in the User Section in combination with requiring the registering of a user with each comment on your site. If you want to turn it off, the easiest way to handle it is to use a plugin. Check out this one for managing the notification: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/disable-new-user-notifications/.

I hope that helps to answer your question! If you require further assistance, please let us know!

    Hello,

Thanks for your question. Basically, the issue is that the status of a comment is in the same database entry as the comment. Once you delete the comment, then there is no record of the comment or status of removal. You would need to find a plugin (if there is one) that provides a response before the comment is removed, or speak with a programmer to add one for you. There are several comment moderation plugins such as this one: WordPress Comments Manager which may meet your needs. Check out the WordPress site for the many differents plugins on this topic.

    Hello,

Sorry for the problems with the database issue. I would highly recommend simply using the export option and saving your database as a SQL file. Then you can transfer the SQL file (which is basically a text file) and import it to your online copy of the WordPress site.

I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.

    Regards,
    Arnel C.

    Hello Chautruongvy,

Sorry to hear that you’re having an issue with the wp-options table not being present. I would first use a MySQL client like phpMyAdmin and look to see if the table is present in your database. If not, then you should either restore from a backup, or you may have to replace the table from another installation – but that installation should basically be identical to what you were currently using until that error occurred. The intent being that you want to have an identical table that you can export and then import into your current installation. The options table is necessary for WordPress to properly work. I know that this doesn’t give you a reassurance that it can definitely be fixed, but if you do get everything working (by re-installing or recovery) – make sure that you keep an up-to-date backup of your installation at all times. Sorry for all the frustrations with the database.

    Kindest regards,
    Arnel

    Hello Baniebonam,

Thanks for your question about moving the logo. Moving it will often rely on the theme. In some cases, you may need to contact the theme developer for help if the general methods don’t work. Check out this previous WordPress post about moving the logo and you’ll see several examples with code: How to move the site logo.

    I hope that helps!

    Regards,
    Arnel
