In reply to: [Universal Post Manager] pdf export not workingAHH SUCCESS!
in fact, BulletProof Security is the problem!
i should have tested that first, not last!
sorry for causing you more trouble than i should have
i’ll open a bug report with the BPS dev – he’s a cool guy and i’m sure he’ll quickly isolate the problem and provide a fix if that is a viable option

In reply to: [Universal Post Manager] pdf export not workingi’m trying to dig further into this and i found that text export is not working either – 404 – File not found
i see you’re using URL query strings for the exports, which makes me suspect that BulletProof Security may be conflicting since it’s pretty aggressive regarding injections and query strings, but even though i’m decent with RegExp’s, digging into BPS to try and isolate it is over my head

In reply to: [Universal Post Manager] pdf export not workingok, i disabled most of my plugins, excluding BulletProof Security, and the issue was the same
also saw this error for one page when trying the PDF export…
FPDF error: Can't open image file: http://12bytes.org/wp-content/uploads/autoclipx-logo.pngif you stick that URl in your browser, you’ll see that the image exists
that is for this page…

In reply to: [Universal Post Manager] pdf export not workingseems like allot of effort on your part – if you give me until tomorrow, at the latest, maybe i can pinpoint a conflicting plugin, assuming that is the cause

In reply to: [Universal Post Manager] pdf export not workingi have the plugin disabled since the site is a public site, but if it’s any help…

the problem existed on any page i tested withhere’s a list of potentially conflicting plugins if it helps – i can’t test more right now, but i start disabling some of them as soon as i can – i stuck an asterisk in front of those that i would suspect the most…

In reply to: how to reorder comments?a commenter has 2 options when nested comments are enabled; reply to an existing comment, or create a new one
because of the crappy way the comments and comment form are laid out in 2014, often what happens is that someone will intend to add a NEW comment, but will click on a “reply” link, never seeing the comment form at the very bottom of the comments
now that comment has to be moved so it is not a child of another comment, but there is no way to do so
the comment form should collapse as a simple button and be at the top (and possibly also at the bottom) of the comments – this would prevent the mess that is created when people never scroll to the end of the comments to reveal the form

In reply to: [Tako Movable Comments] Moving Comment Replies to Parent Comment (Threaded)^what he said^
this is such an annoyance with WP – no method to organize commentswhat is needed is a simple drag & drop solution
the other thing that would help is moving the new comment box to the top of the comments
@anefarious1 – also see this little gem of code that helps inform commenters as to what they are replying to…

personally i’d suggest commenting out the code to use only the first name since it could be a single charForum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: how to reorder comments?hi Bet – i’m using wp 4 and the standard 2014 theme
what i’m looking for is a back-end way to re-order threaded comments, such as a plugin, without having to edit the db to change all the comment IDs

In reply to: [BJ Lazy Load] Doesnt work on Homepagei have the same problem, described here…
https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/badly-broken-1?replies=5when the plugin is active, thumbnails (in my case) on the front page are not loaded
though BJ says this plugin works with the 2014 theme, and that is the theme i’m running, i am obviously not the only one experiencing this issue
http://12bytes.org/the plugin is deactivated at this point

In reply to: TinyMCE toolbar doesn't floathi Fadookie
the extension that caused the issue was a setting in HTTP UserAgent Cleaner, but i don’t recall which setting it was
that ext. is rather obscure, but if you are using Firefox and have any extensions that affect the HTTP headers (usually privacy related stuff), try disabling them
also try a clean profile

In reply to: smart video embeddinghi James – thanks for the reply
i actually tried that plug and besides not being able to get it to work, i found that the dev has a paid version which he makes no mention of until after it is installed – very crappy behavior IMO
i’m open to other suggestions if you have any 🙂
