Thank you for your feedback. We understand your frustration with the read-only mode and the limitations it imposes. The introduction of the two-job limit was intended to simplify usage, but we recognize that it has caused inconvenience for many of our users.
We’re actively working to address this issue by removing the two-job limitation, allowing you to create and edit as many jobs as needed. Our goal is to restore the flexibility and functionality you expect from BackWPup, ensuring it no longer feels frozen.
In the meantime, if you need to regain full control, you can revert to a previous version (4.1.7) while we implement these changes. You can download it here.

This will restore the simplicity and functionality you’re accustomed to while we address the current issues.

Regarding the zip file format, we have some good news: the option to select your preferred backup file format will be added back into the UI this week.
Additionally, we’re working hard to fix issues and ensure that backups are reliable and effective once again.
In the meantime, you can roll back to the previous version (4.1.7) to maintain stability while we address these concerns. You can download it here.

We understand that the new interface may feel confusing, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.
Please know that we’re actively working on improving usability based on user feedback to make the interface more intuitive.
In the meantime, if you’re more comfortable with the previous version, you can revert to it by downloading version 4.1.7 from here. Just scroll down to the very bottom of this page, download 4.1.7 and restore the older UI you’re familiar with.

Thank you for sharing your concerns about the changes in the user interface and how they may have impacted your experience with the plugin. Our intention with simplifying the UI was to enhance usability, but we recognize that it shouldn’t come at the cost of functionality.
Regarding the zip file format, we have some good news: the option to select your preferred backup file format will be added back into the UI this week.
Additionally, we’re working on removing the two-job limit so you can create and edit as many backup jobs as needed, including their scheduling options, similar to the previous version’s functionality.
In the meantime, if the current version isn’t meeting your needs, you can roll back to version 4.1.7 from here.

We’ve listened to your feedback and have added back custom scheduling and backup history in the latest update! We’ve also fixed issues with backups running continuously and authentication problems with Dropbox, FTP, and Azure.
