I originally set it up with normal PayPal option at a time when we were only accepting PayPal payments. Customers were getting redirected properly to our custom success page at that time.

When we began taking credit card payment directly on our website, PayPal tech support had me disable the regular paypal option and use the Express option instead. From what you are saying, it is likely that this weirdness started at that point and we had no idea.

So, where/ how can I set up the PayPal express to display what we want it to display on payment success page?

I need to add that refunds are also not working. They hang indefinitely with the “loader” icon displayed. When refreshing the page, it shows as if refund was issued, but it doesn’t happen in PayPal account. Neither manual refunds, nor refunds via PayFlow are working.
