  • @ Shufflehound. OK that’s almost the answer I think but I will have to try another search… thanks anyway.

@ WPyogi. OK I’ll take another look thru… it is that sub directory I can’t find!!!
I clearly understand CSS when I can see what has been done previously .. always best to investigate first as I see it.
    MAny thanks for your help.

    @ Andrew… I am waiting my turn.
I am seeking answers from the author as a support issue. This post is a continuation of previous queries on this same issue. These are legitimate questions.

I am not engaging in a discussion. These are legitimate questions.

If you want to intervene, get the author to answer the problem clearly, not avoid the issue OK?

@ WPyogi – there are no style sheets within this theme that have any style content that I can find. If you know where they are please show me.
I am not concerned with future updates… I always back up my authored CSS to cover that event.

I dont want to copy the CSS from Firebug etc and dump it into the existing empty style sheet as that may create a new problem by duplicating CSS residing elsewhere if you follow.

Thanks for the tip but it isn’t solving the problem as detailed above. πŸ™‚

OK. The problem is I need to know what style settings have been used and where are they?
Without knowing what the CSS styles are it is very risky to make any changes.

Why are you not prepared to divulge this information? It is very unprofessional.

Oh and I forgot I want to change the Captions font style and size using CSS…

    @shufflehound
Checked all the Options and so on. I want to change specific fonts and their sizes & colours not a global sweep!

Again where are the Style Settings??? OR are you suggesting I use the Maskitto Light: Stylesheet (style.css) to do my edits?

thanks for the rapid response! πŸ™‚

    Re: CSS File:

If there is no style sheet as such… where are the style settings so I can alter them???

I want to change font sizes and add some different colours to fonts selectively.
I don’t want to do this as inline code.

Also I want to insert a larger Logo as CarolineMentor (above) requested.

Is the CSS Custom PlugIn the only way to do this???

    many thanks

    The caveat says:

    I say:
Please don’t distribute this software and give others problems too.

Sorry Caspar but it aint good enuff to pass the buck when something like this is your responsibility to fix!

It didn’t work for me… manually or auto… grrrr!!! πŸ™

@ Casper and Robert… I thought this plug-in was a simple easy way to backup. It isn’t so that does mislead users.

It clearly requires a very good working knowledge of servers, PHP and so forth. Most WordPress users are “dummies” like me.

After 4 months I still can’t get a successful backup every time – about one in 5. I am so frustrated with this that I have given up on it. I will let it run as is and hope for the full backup to occasionally be effected. I have a concern it may be filling up my server with useless files aka junk.

I understand that writing a program for all “environments” is a complex task. But that’s what BackWPup is supposed to do isn’t it? Maybe this plugin need a major overhaul???

    Hi Caspar..

Many thanks for your assistance… I didn’t know about Pastebin so just unloaded… which was a risky thing!

Anyway here’s hoping no-one attacks my blogs server.

Understand the problem ezplaining things… never enuff rite words!

Eventually I did find some backup files! They were not where I was expecting to find them. What I don’t know is what’s inside them yet as I haven’t tried to get inside them. I will try splitting the backups as you suggest… just gotta figure it out… They were sitting inside WP Backup itself. I just kept clicking on things until I saw something odd!!! I was searching my server WPBackup Folder as I thought that’s where they went.

All easy once you know what you’re doing I guess.

If you want to pull the previous post with my garbage in it… please do!!!

again thanks a lot for the help! bilA

    (@bilbaggins)

I’m having this same problem and giving help using programmers jargon is no help at all.

As far as I can tell by looking inside myWP site on my hosts server there are no usable backups… there seem to be log files… GZfiles.

There are no backup recovery Zip files anywhere.

    The email log says this:

    Thanks for that… I think!!!

None of those Remote Paths interpret correctly altho they are the same as Classic FTP ‘s
as far as I can tell.

    Not a tech myself.

I’ll do what I usually do when something gets too hard to use… trash it and find something else that works without me being forced into learning a new science.

    Hi David

I am having a similar log-in problem. I use Classic FTP and it gets me into the directory without any problems. Using the same settings via Updraft 1.4.48 I get the Failure msg when I test FTP Login thru the setting dashboard.

It may be the Remote Path is incorrect??? What exactly is that?

    with thanks bilA

My Host provided no assistance 1&1 – they got bogged down in their own redtape. I had switched PHP5.2 to PHP5.4 on their instructions as they will stop support for older version beginning April 2013.

I had Strict Standards messages on every page of the WP Dashboard and under every plugin. The errors referenced the same lines in the code for each plugin so I figured it was more a warning… all the same it was unnerving seeing these everytime I logged on to the Dash. So I went to my Host server and turned PHP 5.2 back on. Problem gone!!!

They still have no solution and want to blame the plugins…
