In reply to: [Simple Job Board] Application form does not appear on jobThis site is under development, and I’m not supposed to share it publicly.
If there’s some way I can send you the URL privately, that’s fine, but if I post it here, anyone who’s logged in can see it.

In reply to: Can you use Gutenberg blocks w/o the Visual Editor? Thanks, Joy. That’s very helpful.
It’s starting to look as if I have to enable the Visual Editor to be able to use Gutenberg on any pages at all, which means that the Classic Editor will be in Visual mode on all the other pages.
Visual Editor used to strip out code, and otherwise mess up pages from the TinyMCE, so I have avoided it. But I don’t want to have to resort to a page builder just to put a few blocks of content side by side with some art.
Ech. Fun.

In reply to: Can you use Gutenberg blocks w/o the Visual Editor?I’m not looking for guidance on future methodology, Steven, and yes, I see the handwriting on the proverbial wall. I’m just trying to find out if I have to enable the clunky Visual Editor to use Gutenberg on a specific page or two.
I realize you can’t use the Classic Editor and Gutenberg on the same page. I’m trying to find out if I have to use the Visual Editor version of the Classic Editor on all the pages I don’t let Gutenberg near.

In reply to: Can you use Gutenberg blocks w/o the Visual Editor?I have a long list of hand-coded pages in this site, and no desire to break or redo any of them.
I can remember the Visual Editor florfing coded pages, and don’t want to go through that again. If I use Gutenberg on this site, it will be for only a few pages on which I’m attempting to achieve a specific look.
If you’re running the Classic Editor plug-in and enable the Visual Editor, you’re in the mode I’m describing.

In reply to: [Simple Job Board] Application form does not appear on jobTo be clear, the text “Apply Online” appears, along with the “Attach Resume*” label for the file browsing field, along with the “Submit” button.
No matter what other fields I create for the application, however, they simply do not appear on the job listing.

In reply to: Can you use Gutenberg blocks w/o the Visual Editor?I’m using WP 5.4.2. I have the Classic Editor plug-in installed, with the option of using either it or Gutenberg.
However, IIRC, you can’t actually do anything in Gutenberg without activating the visual editor, which I still view with the greatest suspicion. Once burned…

In reply to: “Post-processing of the image failed” error messageIssue resolved. Some rogue CSS was interfering with reality.

In reply to: “Post-processing of the image failed” error messageInteresting: If I add new images directly to the Media Library, the upload process runs without a hitch.
If I attempt to add media to a page I’m editing, the upload fails with the error message in my original post.

In reply to: Adding site logo creates plethora of cropped media filesIt just strikes me as an untidy way to work. “Here’s the file I want to use.” “OK, we’ll create a duplicate of it and give it a really long file name.”
I undertook this test to see if the “cropped-” file name behavior was a WP default. I don’t actually use 201x in my own work.

In reply to: Adding site logo creates plethora of cropped media filesThanks for the reply. I can’t help but see this as less-than-useful file glut. In addition, the much-longer file name adds more bytes to page code.
Really wish this were not this way. Is there a workaround to alter the behavior?

In reply to: [bbp style pack] Styling custom log-in/log-out/profile menu itemsI was trying to make the log-in and profile links different from the rest of the menu items. My standard items appear in white type. For contrast purposes, I wanted to use yellow on the two custom items.
The background color was preserved in the settings when I applied the LoginPress 1.0.7 update. All I needed to do to restore my solid-color background was to deactivate the background image.
Thanks for the quick fix!

In reply to: [bbp style pack] Styling custom log-in/log-out/profile menu itemsAdding a clarification: I meant to say that “I created a custom style solely for the purpose of changing the color of the text of the custom menu items that the plug-in can add for logging in and out of forums and for editing one’s profile.”

In reply to: [bbp style pack] Log-in setting issuesThank you, Robin!
Once I can make this site live, I’ll send you a URL so you can see it.
Without your plug-ins, I’d still be tearing out hair.

In reply to: [bbp style pack] Log-in setting issuesSorry, what I’m trying to get is how to redirect a user to the forums page after s/he logs in.
From the log-in screen, the site immediately goes back to the home page. I’m trying to get it to redirect to the forum page instead.
I don’t mean to be dense. Just don’t see how this is done.
