Great – thanks for the update!
Hi Steve – just wondering if there’s been any progress on this. The contrast checker still isn’t working for me. Thanks!
Ah, OK – our replies crossed! Thanks for letting me know!
I’ve also just set up a new site here https://wordpress-905419-3778882.cloudwaysapps.com/index.php/sample-page/, with no plugins installed, and using one of the default wordpress themes, and the same thing is happening.
I’m beginning to wonder if it’s me – am I doing something wrong? I’m very confused!Hi Amber – you can view the site here https://wordpress-905419-3424252.cloudwaysapps.com/ .
I’ve removed most pages and sections and kept a couple where there is white text on a light background – this is what isn’t being picked up.
Ironically the logos on the home page are being picked up as having insufficient contrast even though they should be fine. They are SVGs hosted in the media library.
Thanks for taking a look!
CarolineHi Amber – I have put the site up on a subdomain. Can you let me know the best way to send you the login details?
Hi Steve – unfortunately that code didn’t make any difference, and I’m not using a security plugin on the site. Any other ideas?
Update – I’ve received an automated message from WordPress letting me know there’s an error in the relevant file in the Affiliate for WordPress plugin, so it’s probably that. Please ignore the message above.
If I select a different image format, (and select ‘save in media library’) it pulls in the two most recent instagram images, but the other links are still broken – see https://postimg.org/image/nj03efdq3/ and https://postimg.org/image/8zsyd4n6z/ (the first two
<li>elements are the images that work, and the last is the first of the list of images that don’t appear).Yup, I’m having this issue too. If the ‘save in media library’ option is selected, then the HTML img src is ‘unknown’. If it isn’t selected, then it works fine, and then img src is the external link to the image on the Instagram servers.
You can see a screenshot of what it looks like with ‘save in media library’ option selected here https://postimg.org/image/dvdrjjuut/
Thanks!
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Theme search not workingI’m having the same issue. If I type theme name into the search box and then do nothing, it will bring up the correct theme. However, if I type in the name and then hit the ‘return’ key, it doesn’t work. Easy enough to just avoid hitting the return key, but I suspect that ideally should also work if I do this.
Hi David
No, this is just using the free Updraftplus plugin. I export and import the WordPress database myself. There seems to be no way to prevent the settings in my local site from being applied to my live site when I do this, and every time the settings on my live site are deleted, as are all the previous backups, and I have to import the settings from the json file I saved. It’s very frustrating. Any advice would be really welcome.
Thanks
CarolineHi Bradvin – yes, that appears to have fixed the problem, thank you! Also, the issue I posted about the other day where the photos were loading with an opacity of less than 1 also seems to no longer be an issue – I’m not sure if you fixed that too? I can see the code has changed so presumably you did….
Will this fix be in the next official update (ie, will I be safe to use the next update when it’s released?)?
Thank you so much for looking into this.
CarolineHi Bradvin – thanks for getting back to me. I’ve spent a long time today trying to figure out what’s been causing the problem, and in the process I’ve moved the site to horacebaynes.artandcode.org. I’ve manage to fix the problem I think. The issue seemed to be in gallery-justified.css, in the class .justified-gallery>.entry-visible. The opacity property wasn’t working properly – even though it was set to 1, not all the images were displaying at 1 (unless I went into the Safari browser dev tools, turned the opacity property off and on again, and then the images displayed properly).
As I’d seen another post recently where you’d suggested there was a bug in the css animations, I tried deleting the css code relating to animations, also in the .justified-gallery>.entry-visible class (ie I removed this: -webkit-animation:justified-gallery-show-entry-animation 500ms 0 ease;-moz-animation:justified-gallery-show-entry-animation 500ms 0 ease;-ms-animation:justified-gallery-show-entry-animation 500ms 0 ease) . This worked, and now the images are rendering properly. I have no idea why it works, but it does!
If you have any other suggestions about what might have been going on I’d be really interested to hear them. I have another site I’m using the justified gallery in where the images seem to be displaying fine in Safari, so I’m not sure why it wasn’t working on this particular site.
Thanks so much!
The main galleries are here http://www.horace.artandcode.org/photo-gallery/ and here http://www.horace.artandcode.org/mood-board-gallery/, but there are also smaller galleries on these pages http://www.horace.artandcode.org/garden-services/ , http://www.horace.artandcode.org/about/ and http://www.horace.artandcode.org/indoor-pots-and-styling/
