Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Frustrating media upload problem, WP 4.5.2I apologize for my frustration. Yes, I am aware of the generosity of time/money/labor in the open source movement. And I am grateful for it.
It can be tough to keep up with things, though, when coding, php, css is a side gig, not a main gig for me, or for anyone else who does WP sites as a hobby/for fun, and not necessarily all that regularly.
Here was the problem–>
Turns out there was an element/plugin linked to my theme Cubell Valenti (v. 5.2.2) that needs to be updated separately from the theme itself. Plugin name = ‘Cubell Functionality Plugin’.
I updated this separate plugin — of which I was unaware that needed separate updating — and the media upload problem (I was getting an “http error” message when trying to upload images via the media upload in WP 5.2.2.) went away.
Thank you.

In reply to: [FG Joomla to WordPress] Migrate within same domainI have some follow-up questions to this thread about internal domain migration that I’m hoping you can help me with, Kerfred:
1) How do I best move all of the WordPress files from /wp to www?(Via C-Panel FTP?)
2) What will happen to WP’s connection to its database after I move all WP files from /wp to www — will I need to change any database settings?
3) What will happen to page URLs for WP pages once I have moved all WP files from /wp to www? (Do I need to run “Remove Prefixes” and “Modify Internal Links” in the Joomla FG plugin again, once I have moved everything from /wp to www?)
4) What will happen to the Joomla database and URLs — will I be able to navigate my entire old Joomla-based site at /joomla without making any modifications to Joomla pages and the Joomla database? (I would like to still be able to navigate the entire old joomla 1.5 based site at /joomla)
5) What will happen in terms of Google searches that used to find my Joomla based URLs, e.g. http://solarchargeddriving.com/editors-blog/on-going-solar/1218-grid-parity-wont-grow-rooftop-solar-very-much.html — will Google searches just return dead links? If yes, what, if anything, can I do to ensure my new WordPress-based version of SolarChargedDriving.Com is properly indexed/found by Google?
Thank you.
[I do have the premium version of FG Joomla, BTW]

In reply to: [FG Joomla to WordPress] 500 Internal Error AND other probemsSo far VERY disappointed in the migration and this plugin (and I bought the premium version).
NONE of the Joomla posts/pages from 2012 – 2015 — my Joomla based site, SolarChargedDriving.Com, has been online since September 2009 — made it over. Under “Archives” everything stops in 2012.
Also, it’s very confusing because many of my Joomla Sections appear not to be listed at all under WordPress categories, while some do appear to be listed.
But the biggest frustration is that the last three years of content — hundreds of posts — from my Joomla-based site, SolarChargedDriving.Com, appears not to have made it over in the migration.
