Will do. Thank you.
Hi James@macmanx,
Thank you for sharing.
I am trying to get a freelancer to help because I am too old for this kind of stuff. I have been wasting too much time over every little bug that appeared. I am stuck looking for the right person. I think I need a theme that helps me with those photos.
Will understand more about the block editor you suggested.
Much appreciated.

In reply to: Bottom part of the images became blurry in my blog postsHi Lina @linaasenova,
I have cleared the browser but the photos remain blurry at the bottom.
As said before, the photos became totally clear after I removed the photo captions. So, I wonder if it has more to do with Sphene theme. Maybe I should try to contact them.
Compared to other blog sites, I do have a lot of photos in the library.

In reply to: Bottom part of the images became blurry in my blog postsHi @dll416,
Thank you. I tried your suggestion. It works in the public view. The blurry bottom part is still there in the admin edited screen (All posts). I can tolerate that, but I wonder if it is normal.

In reply to: Bottom part of the images became blurry in my blog postsHi @asadz,
Thank you so much for the guidance.
I have inserted the code you provided. I checked some of the posts and the images in the Public View are now good. However, these blurry images are still on my admin screens. Is that normal?

In reply to: Bottom part of the images became blurry in my blog postsHi Lina (@linaasenova),
I think you are right. I compared images with and without captions. Those without captions are clear. For my blogs, I do not want to delete the captions because they are part and partial of the story-telling. I find it hard to understand though that the latest version of WordPress would force this default on all their users unless they change the CSS.

In reply to: Bottom part of the images became blurry in my blog postsHi@asadz,
Thank you for the input.
I am not a developer and know nothing about CSS. So, I am a bit nervous about inserting any CSS until I understand what has caused this situation and what your proposed code means. Could you elaborate a bit on why I have these blurry images?
Is there any other easier way I can fix this without tempering with the CSS?

I tried deactivating the plugins one by one and saw no improvement in the images.
My blog posts contain a lot of photos. I use an image resizer (icecream) that I purchase to reduce the image size from 2-4 MB per image down to about 400 KB before inserting them into my blog posts. These resized images look good before I insert them.
When the website was designed, I was told by the developer that the images would be resized automatically (I do not have to manually resize them) but I had resized the images using the icecream image resizer instead.

In reply to: Can’t copy and paste in WordPress postsHi Lina,
Thanks for the advice. The problem was solved when I updated WordPress to the latest version.
Before that, deactivating all the plugins, and changing the browser did not help.
I am just puzzled why this happened so suddenly after I have been using the old version for years.
So, thank you very much!

In reply to: How do I remove unwanted words in the headerHi Jamie,
Thanks for taking the time to advise.
Sounds complicated. 1) If it involves changing the code, it will be beyond me because I just write blogs. In this case, do I need to hire a designer to change the code, or at least look for the bug? 2) I think you are right. The menu actually displays a category. I have been trying to play with it but so far still unsuccessful. Will look for help.
Thank you.

In reply to: Clear image inserted into WordPress posts that became blurrySorry, I misspoke. I have actually used the defaults:
- thumbnail: 150×150
- medium: 600×600
- large: 1280×1280
The images now look great. I will in the future change all images to “medium” if there are 2 or more in one row.
The use of snippets is a bit too much for me. I just have to tolerate the caption outside the image in that situation.
I just found that 3 of my post photos have been distorted by the use of classic editor when I was trying to fix the problem of the blurry imgaes. For exmaple:
How to explore Luang Prabang’s temples, rivers and waterfalls 2/3 2023 (Stop 8) – Perfect Then
To party and have a good time in Vang Vienne, Laos 3/2023 (Stop 9) – Perfect Then
Genocide and the killing fields re-lived, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia 3/2023 (Stop 11) – Perfect Then
Do you have any suggestion? I tried redoing one of the posts but it took to much time to redo them.
Sorry for troubling you.

In reply to: Clear image inserted into WordPress posts that became blurryI tried your suggestions on my latest post See divided Cyprus and the only divided capital in the world in 6 days 6/2023 (Stop 6) – Perfect Then, i.e. changing the defaults to:
- Thumbnail is 50×50 (cropped)
- Medium is 150×150
- Large is 300×300
, and changed all my photos that I resized, to width:2560, height: 1280. When these resized photos were inserted into the posts, they came out sharp without any further interference from me. The only negative is the images each take up about 400 kb, which is more than the less than 200 kb each previously. I also found that, when there is only one photo in the block, the caption is displayed outside the photo. But I can live with both these side effects. So, I am happy this problem is resolved. Thank you so much!
