To be honest I never looked, just updated to 5.1.
My wordpress and Theme were up to date…but not the PHP. Updating the PHP seemed to do the trick. Thanks.
I just did a fresh install of wordpress, database, and make. Still the same problems. I was so ready to upgrade to Make Plus yesterday…now having doubts.

I’m not using a fresh install of WordPress and Make (not plus). They are both up to date (no plug-ins installed). I’m having the same issue. I get a white screen on the Customise and Background pages.
